The European Parliament this week [Sept 2014] voted through the EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement. MEPs described the vote as a move of solidarity with Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. The agreement aims to increase co-operation between the EU and Ukraine in areas such as economic reform and recovery, energy, transport and environment. The Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly says the agreement is a strong display of support for Ukraine and he’s demanding that Russia respects Ukraine’s sovereignty.
