The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness has
called on the European Commission to introduce laws to bring greater fairness
in the food supply chain. Ms McGuinness says the EU needs to do something to
help farmers to get better prices for their produce. The MEP for Midlands-North
West met the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market this week. She called on Elżbieta Bieńkowska to address unfair trading practices.
