Interview/raw audio Nessa Childers on TTIP [Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership] talks.
The Independent MEP Nessa Childers is
demanding the removal of a controversial clause from the EU-US trade talks. The
European Parliament postponed a debate and a vote this morning on the EU’s negotiating
position on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership talks known as
TTIP. MEPs are divided over whether
or not a controversial investor protection clause known as an ISDS [Investor
State Dispute Settlement] should be included in the agreement. Nessa Childers
is one of the MEPs who wants it removed entirely from the talks.
