Ni Riada calls for ‘cultural exclusion’ clause for Ireland in EU-US Trade talks

The Sinn Fein MEP is calling for a
‘cultural exclusion’ clause for Ireland in any free trade deal brokered between
the EU and the US. The European Parliament has made a number of recommendations
to the European Commission for its Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership [TTIP] talks with the US. Ms Ni Riada says any such free trade deal
could jeopardise Irish cultural and audio-visual industries. She says Ireland
should be entitled to the same cultural exclusion clause that France managed to
broker.
