Foster has responsibility to ensure Brexit vote ‘respected’ – Carthy

The Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy is calling on
Northern Ireland’s First Minister, Arlene Foster to respect the majority Brexit
vote to remain within the EU. Mr Carthy says people across Northern Ireland
will be worse off as a result of the Brexit vote. And,the Midlands North-West
MEP says he was extremely disappointed with the leave stance the DUP took on
Brexit.

Prospective Tory leaders ‘don’t give a damn’ about Ireland – Carthy

The four remaining British politicians
contending the leadership of the Tory party don’t care about Ireland – North or
South. So says the Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy who was speaking in the European
Parliament in Strasbourg where the Brexit fallout has dominated proceedings. Mr
Carthy says the lack of discussion about the impact of a Brexit on Northern Ireland
highlights the need for people North and South of the border to work towards an
acceptable Brexit agreement.

Ireland can be ‘voice of reason’ on Brexit – Hayes

Ireland can play a pivotal role in helping to
secure an amicable trade deal between the EU and the UK. That’s the view of the
Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes. The Dublin MEP says it’s vital an EU-UK trade deal
is negotiated swiftly once the British trigger Article 50.
