Former GAA President ‘surprised’ at €5m FAI payout

The former GAA president, Sean Kelly, has
strongly criticised the FAI for taking a €5million pay-out from FIFA over
Thierry Henry’s controversial handball in the 2009 world cup play-off. Mr Kelly
was speaking in the European Parliament which will debate the FIFA corruption scandals tomorrow.  The Ireland
South MEP is recommending that the FAI hand back the €5million it got from FIFA
and ask for a grant instead.
