MEPs are urging EU countries not
to authorise any new fracking operations in the EU. The majority of MEPs voted
for the call to ban new fracking in a vote in the European Parliament this
week. The Independent MEP Marian Harkin says the authorization of new fracking
operations in Ireland cannot be justified.
