Pope didn’t pull ‘any punches’ on state of Europe – Harkin

Loneliness and immigration were some of the key topics addressed by the Pope during his address to the European Parliament earlier today. His Holiness received a sustained standing ovation from MEPs after his compelling address which was punctuated by pleas for greater human dignity and human rights. The Pontiff followed his address to the Parliament with a visit to the Council of Europe. The Independent MEP Marian Harkin says she was impressed with how he described some of the current problems in Europe.
