Pope Francis is currently visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg. His Holiness arrived in the Parliament after flying into Strasbourg airport. He was met by the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz. The Last time a Pope visited the Parliament was in 1988 when John Paul addressed MEPs and was heckled by the late Ian Paisley who was an MEP at the time. The Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune says his visit is an important one.
