Interview with the FG MEP Deirdre Clune on emergency travel documents

Karen Coleman talks to the Fine Gael MEP about the vote in the European Parliament this week on rules to improve emergency help for travellers who’ve lost their passports and who may find themselves in a country that doesn’t have any embassy from their own country.

They will now be able to get temporary travel documents at another Member State consulate.

Animal feedlots detrimental to family farms – Carthy

Animal feedlots could have very damaging consequences for rural Ireland and the Irish beef industry.

So says the Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy who was responding to recent media investigations into factory feedlots.

According to the online agri publication Agriland, over 18% (eighteen percent) of the total national beef kill in 2018 originated from factory feedlots. Matt Carthy says those figures are deeply worrying.

MEP seeks legal opinion on high concentration of media ownership in Ireland – Boylan

The Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan has commissioned a legal opinion on the high concentration of media ownership in Ireland. The Dublin MEP says politicians in Ireland are failing to tackle the lack of diversity in media ownership here. Earlier this year an EU funded report, published by the Florence-based Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom, claimed Ireland was at a ‘high risk’ when it comes to concentration of media ownership.
