McGuinness calls on EU Commission for laws on unfair trading practices

The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness has
called on the European Commission to introduce laws to bring greater fairness
in the food supply chain. Ms McGuinness says the EU needs to do something to
help farmers to get better prices for their produce. The MEP for Midlands-North
West met the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market this week. She called on
Elżbieta Bieńkowska to address unfair trading practices.

New EU telecoms package won’t deliver Net Neutrality – Harkin

The European Parliament this week voted
on a new EU telecoms package which will end mobile roaming charges from June
2017. However, the Independent MEP Marian Harkin says the new deal won’t deliver
what’s called net neutrality.
The idea of Net Neutrality is
that all internet data traffic should be treated equally, with no content
provider able to gain an advantage over another. Here’s Marian Harkin.
