EU needs to reflect ‘bravery’ of Greek referendum – Carthy

The Greek government has limited time left
to provide acceptable proposals to its EU counterparts to prevent a banking
collapse and an exit from the Eurozone. The Greek government caused consternation
in Brussels yesterday when it failed to present new bailout proposals. Well
this morning the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will address the European
Parliament in Strasbourg. The Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says EU leaders need to
respect the outcome of last weekend’s referendum in Greece and show leniency
towards the Greeks.

will address the European Parliament this morning. It’s expected Mr Tsipras
will outline the conclusions of his summit meeting with EU leaders in Brussels
yesterday. Greece has been given forty eight hours to strike a new bailout deal
