MEP warns LEADER programme in Ireland suffering from lack of EU funds – Ni Riada

The Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni Riada says the
LEADER programme in Ireland is suffering badly because some EU Member States aren’t
paying their fair share of contributions to the EU budget. She was speaking
from the European Parliament where MEPS have warned that the EU doesn’t have
enough resources to deal with major challenges like the escalating refugee
crisis and on-going unemployment.

EU does not have enough money to tackle crises – Ni Riada

MEPs in the European Parliament will this
evening debate the priorities for the  EU’s
2017 budget. A draft resolution due to be voted on this week calls for continued
funding to tackle the on-going refugee crisis as well as for increased
investment to speed up economic recovery. However, the Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni
Riada, who sits on the EU Parliament’s Budgetary committee, is warning the EU
does not have enough money to deal with its current problems.

Political instability could jeopardise investment in Ireland warns MEP – Sean Kelly

The Fine Gael MEP
Sean Kelly is warning that investors could abandon Ireland if we enter a period
of political instability. Speaking from the European Parliament Mr Kelly said he’s
hopeful a new government will be formed, as long all political parties are
willing to make compromises and put the country first.
