No money available to extend the Juncker Plan – Ni Riada

The European Commission’s plans to extend
the duration of its multi-billion euro investment programme may not
materialise. So says the Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni Riada who claims there is no
money left to sustain it beyond its 3-year term. The so-called Juncker plan was
created to provide public funding for infrastructure and innovation projects to
make them more attractive to investors. The Commission plans to extend the programme
beyond its original timeframe.   However
Ms Ni Riada, who sits on the European Parliament’s Budget Committee, warned
this would not happen without extra funding from wealthier EU members.

EU investment plan failing SMEs in Ireland – Ni Riada

The European Commission’s multi-billion
euro investment plan has failed to provide help for small businesses in
Ireland. So says the Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni Riada. This week the European
Parliament debated the progress of the so-called Juncker plan one year after
its creation. The €315 billion plan aims to reenergise stagnant growth and
unemployment across Europe. However, Ms Ni Riada says small Irish businesses
